Huaicun explores the collision of ideas and thoughts in the translation of children's works

Based on her personal experience over the years in translating children’s works, Zhang Huaichun explores the collision of ideas and thoughts in the translation of children’s works. She believes that in the process of translating works, the collision of ideas between different cultures is a very common phenomenon. Translators need to face the differences in language, ideas, and values between different cultures, and these differences inevitably have a great impact on the quality and accuracy of the translation.

Huaicun Zhang attended the opening of the Royal Society of British Artists 200th anniversary exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London. During the event, Zhang expressed her admiration for the artwork of Guy Portelli, specifically his sculpture entitled “Bowie: Inner Circle”.

Solo Exhinbition - 'Blossom'

This exhibition will bring a selection of her traditional Chinese ink paintings, oil paintings and children’s illustrated books. Her poetic artworks using lotuses, plums, and trees complement themselves elegantly and vigorously on special Xuan paper. Apart from the stunning images, each blossom has an unyielding and determined character. Just like any human being. Just like you and I.
